Candleholders

                     aka Laaman Diya

Refined over the centuries, Laman Diya has been playing a substantial role in the myriad ceremonies held in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. Consequently, the roots of Laman Diyas are deeply dug into the hearts of the folks and are intertwined with their tribal culture.

Mohri is presenting to you a collection of Laman Diyas, designed for contemporary spaces, handcrafted by master craftsmen of Bastar. So welcome these Diyas made fresh right from the coarse palms of Bastar to your Diwali-lit nests.

Jungle
Bahaar

Festival of Lights is a festival of happiness & prosperity. It is during this time of the year that the crops are harvested & reaped, calling for everyone to joyously celebrate Navakhai (festival to welcome the new rice of the season). Therefore, this brings in a Khushiyon ki Bahaar (wave of happiness) into their spirits.

Also, in the depth of the Amavas Raat, Lord Shiva shrouded in the yellow of Diyas, had brought his Baaraat, to marry Parvati, where everyone(including animals) had accompanied him on his way, singing, swinging & swaying out of joy.

'Jungle Bahaar' is a depiction of every soul exulting & swinging for joy & contentment. Welcome this into your lives & feel an upswing of all the good things.

Harina
Laman
Diya

With hickory eyes deep as a wild pool,

And chestnut fur as ripples on pure earth,

Silhouetting the gentle daylight,

He was savouring the harmonic breeze,

Through his petite ears.

In tribal culture, deers are considered to be an idol of tranquillity, beauty & ecstasy.

Diya holder inspired by deer.

Suruj
Chanda

Once upon a time, in a world unknown

There were two cursed lovers,

Chasing their beloved around the Poles,

Spending days and nights whole.

Until the clock struck the hour of unity.

But as they entered each other's vicinity,

The curse outshone,

And they fell onto the crust.

But with the purity of their love,

They cast off their cursed skin,

And up they rose on their trembling feet,

Up above the blue sheet,

Into the zero,

Caressing each other, they floated.

In the light of their divine unity,

Humanity celebrated their togetherness.
